Badger Childhood Cancer Network

needs your support!

In-kind donations

Gifts are always welcome, and you may claim a tax deduction for the fair market value of the items you donate.  We are always looking for items such as:

* Prepaid gas, restaurant and grocery cards to help families in need who have a child on cancer treatment
* Tickets to events and entertainment facilities in Dane County and movie passes
* Small non-gendered toys and games, arts and crafts kits, markers, playing cards, bubbles, puzzle books, travel sized toiletries, iTunes cards, journals for teens, for our “New Diagnosis” bags. All items for hospitalized children must be new and clean.
* Prizes to raffle at our fundraising events.
* Auction items – some of the most popular auction attractions are donations of a stay at your lake cabin or city condo, gift certificates for goods or services at your business. Food items and sporting goods are also very popular.

Sponsorships

Sponsor a party or event either financially or with goods or services, such as our holiday party or our summer family party. We offer sponsorships for our fundraising events, and you can get the name of your business or organization on our t-shirts, banners, web site, posters and brochures so the community will know that you support local families of kids with cancer!

Fundraising

Have your community group such as Eagle Scouts, Optimists Club, student council, etc. hold an event to benefit Badger Childhood Cancer Network.   Groups and individuals have conducted creative fundraisers for us with "Penny Wars" competitions, casual dress days at companies, head shaving events, etc.  We are happy to provide you with posters, brochures and other presentation materials if want to do a fundraising drive to benefit Badger Childhood Cancer Network.

Workplace Contributions

Please write in “Badger Childhood Cancer Network” when you donate to the United Way.

Talk to your human resources manager about giving employees a day of fun by allowing them to wear casual dress, denim, holiday apparel, etc. if they contribute to Badger Childhood Cancer Network.

Financial Support

Badger Childhood Cancer Network relies solely on our community for financial support.  We do not receive any state or federal funding, nor do we receive financial assistance from any national organization.

We receive funding from:

* Individual, business and organization donations
* Fundraisers
* Grants

 What your money could do:

* $500 will give six months of emergency financial assistance to the family of a child with cancer, providing, for example, a car repair, utility payments, rent or mortgage payments
* $350 will pay for one meeting of our Monthly Family Support group, where families play together and share their thoughts and fears, have dinner and maybe relax and smile for a while
* $200 will provide groceries for a family whose child has been in the hospital for several weeks
* $150 will support the Hero Bead Program for all the kids currently on treatment for two months.
* $100 will supply a family with a “New Diagnosis Bag,” including a $50 gas card, books and informational materials, toiletries and toys
* $50 buys 4 books on childhood cancer for our parent library
* $25 will send a child, his or her sibling or a parent to an informational workshop or retreat
* $25 provides a gas card to a family so they can get their child or teen to the hospital for cancer treatment for 2 weeks

 Donations are always welcome and events are available for corporate sponsorship.

 All donations are tax deductible (to the extent allowed by law)
