Volunteer Opportunities

As a non-profit organization we rely on our volunteers.  It is important to us that most of our funding goes directly to services for kids and their families, and volunteers help us stretch our resources as far as possible!

We need volunteers for a variety of tasks:

* Help organize our parties and social support events for kids with cancer and their families
* Volunteer at one of our parties or at a fundraising event - they're fun!
* Help on our fundraising committee
* Provide grant writing help
* Volunteer in our office on weekdays
* Graphic design
* Speak on behalf of Capital Candlelighters to a community organization and help us raise awareness of the impact that childhood cancer has on kids and families
* Anything else you would like to help with!

Each volunteer goes through an application process and a short training program.

We also welcome applications to our executive board from people who have an interest in childhood cancer and who are excited about contributing to the work we're doing. Childhood cancer survivors are strongly encouraged to apply.
