Authors' Album Quilt!

The winning ticket for the
Authors' Album Quilt
was drawn Saturday, Sept. 17th
during the
Wisconsin Quilt Expo
Alliant Energy Center
Madison, WI
New York Times bestselling author
designed and sewed the quilt to represent
a similar quilt created by characters in her novel
the seventh book in her popular Elm Creek Quilts series.
61 notable current authors for adults and children
contributed their signatures
to the beautiful quilt, which Ms Chiaverini generously
donated to Capital Candlelighters
to help us raise funds for support of children
with cancer and their families.
Chiaverini created the Authors' Album Quilt
using fabrics from her Cross Country Quilters design collection,
marketed nationally by Red Rooster Fabrics.
The Authors' Album Quilt will also appear as an illustration
in a forthcoming volume in Chiaverini's series of pattern books, based on quilts described in the Elm Creek Quilts novels.
In addition to using the funds raised to fulfill our mission
"to educate, serve, support and advocate for kids with cancer, their families and the professionals who care for them"
here in Wisconsin, the Capital Candlelighters' board will direct
25% of the proceeds from the quilt raffle
to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation,
our parent organization based in Maryland,
to benefit kids with cancer all over the United States.
